**Time slots let customers pick a delivery window** — like 10:00–12:00 or 14:00–16:00 — alongside the date.

- **Add windows to any rule.** Define the slots you offer; they show under the chosen date on the storefront picker.
- **Cap each window.** Give a slot a capacity and it can sell out independently of the date.
- **Live sell-out.** Full slots grey out for shoppers automatically, so they only pick what you can fulfill.
- **Enforced at checkout.** The OrderRules Shopify Function blocks a sold-out slot even on Shop Pay or direct checkout URLs.

Slot windows are carrier-agnostic. At export, they map to each carrier's **native slot codes** — see [Carrier CSV export](/docs/delivery/carrier-csv-export).
