Automatic Counter Resets
Set It and Forget It
OrderRules resets your order counters automatically. You never need to manually clear a count or remember to flip a switch.
When Resets Happen
Daily Reset
- When: Midnight in your store's timezone
- What resets: The daily order counter goes back to zero
- Processing time: Takes one to two minutes after midnight
Weekly Reset
- When: Midnight at the start of Monday (Sunday night turning into Monday)
- What resets: The weekly order counter goes back to zero
Monthly Reset
- When: Midnight on the 1st of each month
- What resets: The monthly order counter goes back to zero
Your Timezone Matters
All resets are based on the timezone configured in your OrderRules settings. If your timezone is set to America/New_York, midnight means midnight Eastern Time.
To check or change your timezone:
- Go to Settings
- Find the Timezone section
- Select your correct timezone from the dropdown
- Click Save
If your timezone is wrong, resets will happen at unexpected times. This is the most common cause of "my counter did not reset" issues.
Edge Cases
Order placed at 11:59 PM: Counts toward the current day's limit.
Order placed at 12:01 AM: Counts toward the new day's limit.
Customer in checkout at midnight: If a customer starts checkout before midnight and finishes after, the order goes through. This is intentional -- it would be unfair to block someone mid-checkout.
What If a Reset Does Not Happen
If your counter does not reset as expected:
- Verify your timezone -- this solves most issues
- Wait a couple of minutes -- resets can take one to two minutes to process
- Refresh the dashboard -- the display may need a manual page reload
- Contact support at support@efoli.com if the issue persists, and include your store URL and which limit did not reset
Manual Resets
There is no manual reset button in the app. If you need an immediate reset (for example, after testing), contact support@efoli.com and we will handle it for you.
