How do I avoid getting flooded with alerts during a busy rush?

Know Before You Hit the Limit

OrderRules can send you email alerts when your order count approaches a daily, weekly, or monthly limit. This gives you time to prepare before orders are blocked. Email alerts are included on the Pro and Advanced plans.

How to Set Up Alerts

Go to Settings in the app
Scroll to the Notification Settings section
Enter your address in Notification email
Choose your Alert threshold (for example, 85%)
Set the Notification cooldown (for example, 60 minutes)
Click Save

Alert Types

Approaching Capacity (Warning)

Sent when your order count reaches the percentage you configured.

Subject: ⚠️ 86% of your daily order limit used

Your daily order limit is at 86% (43 of 50).
New orders will be blocked automatically once you hit 50.

Limit Reached (100%)

Sent when your limit is fully hit and orders are now blocked.

Subject: Daily order limit reached — new orders paused

Your daily order limit of 50 has been reached.
New orders are paused until the limit resets.

The two alert types

Both go to your notification email. The cooldown sets a minimum gap between any two alerts, so a busy hour doesn't generate a stream of near-identical emails.

Choosing a Threshold

You can pick 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, or 95%.

70% -- early warning with plenty of time to react
80% -- balanced (this is the default)
95% -- last-minute heads-up with fewer notifications

Pick a threshold that gives you enough time to adjust if needed, without creating unnecessary noise.

Cooldown Period

The cooldown prevents you from getting flooded with emails during a busy rush. After an alert is sent, no new alerts will fire for the duration of the cooldown -- including the 100% alert. Set it to 0 for no cooldown.

Cooldown: 60 minutes

10:00 AM: 85% reached -- alert sent
10:30 AM: 90% reached -- no alert (cooldown active)
11:00 AM: Cooldown expires
11:10 AM: 98% reached -- alert sent

The default is 60 minutes. You can set 0 to 240, in steps of 15.

Multiple Recipients

The Notification email field takes one address. To alert several people, use a shared inbox or a group address that forwards to your team:

Testing Your Setup

After saving your notification settings, click Send test email to verify delivery. Check your inbox and spam folder.

If you do not receive the test email, double-check the address for typos and add the OrderRules sender to your contacts.
