Scoping rules
Scoping decides which products a rule applies to, so different items can behave differently.
- By product, collection, or tag. Set this under Applies to. Give frozen goods a longer lead time, or restrict a fragile line to certain weekdays.
- By fulfillment method. Make any rule Delivery only, Pickup only, or Delivery & pickup.
Rules apply to a whole product. There's no variant-level scope, so every variant of a product follows the same rule.
When more than one rule could match, the most specific wins: product > collection > tag > storewide. So a product-level rule overrides a collection rule, which overrides a storewide default.

A rule also sets a fulfillment method β delivery-only, pickup-only, or both.
What scoping doesn't cover
Rules don't vary by where the order is going. There is no country, postcode, or delivery-zone scope, so every customer who can buy a product sees the same dates and slots for it. Where you deliver β and to which postcodes β stays in Shopify's shipping and local delivery settings.
