Buy it now, Shop Pay and other express buttons

Express buttons (Buy it now, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay) skip the cart. OrderRules makes them respect your delivery dates.

What happens on the product page
- The date goes with Buy it now. The date (and time) the shopper picks on the product page is added to the Buy it now order.
- Express buttons wait for a required date. On a product whose rule requires a delivery date, the express buttons look dimmed until the shopper picks a date (and a time, if your rule requires one). Tapping one shows "Choose a delivery date above to use express checkout." and scrolls to the picker.
- Pickup: if the shopper chooses pickup on the product page, express buttons send them to the cart ("Add to cart to choose pickup, then check out from your cart."), because pickup is chosen for the whole order.
- One date for the whole order: if your delivery date scope is "One date for the whole order", the product page has no picker, so express buttons send the shopper to the cart to choose the date.
Products with an optional date, or no delivery rule, are never held back.
Cart page and cart drawer
Wallet buttons in the cart wait for a date, just like the Checkout button.
Wallet hold (optional)
Delivery Dates β Setup β Delivery date behavior β Keep Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay held back on the product page after a date is chosen.
- Off (default, recommended): once a date is picked, Buy it now and wallet buttons all work.
- On: Buy it now works; wallet buttons ask the shopper to add to cart first and pay from the cart.
Turn it on only if a test order paid with a wallet from the product page arrives without the delivery date. Checkout checks the date either way.

Good to know
- The buttons are held only while the delivery picker is visible on the page. If your theme hides it, checkout still checks the date.
- Holding the buttons depends on your theme's markup. It works with Online Store 2.0 themes; checkout checks the date either way.
- Checkout must have checkout protection on to block an order without a required date.
